Why Choose Tentasy

Not a Tour Operator. A Wildlife Expedition Team.

Six reasons travellers, photographers, schools, and conservation lovers choose Tentasy for their wildlife journeys across India, Sri Lanka, and the Indian Ocean.

Karnataka Forest Dept.
In the Wild
"We leave wild places wilder than we found them."
01 · Conservation-First

Ethical wildlife travel. No exceptions.

Every expedition follows strict wildlife ethics — no baiting, no forced encounters, no disruption to natural behaviour. Our team are certified volunteers for the Karnataka Forest Department's camera-trapping and census work, so conservation isn't a tagline — it's how we plan every itinerary.

  • Zero-disturbance sighting protocols on every safari
  • KFD-certified volunteers for census and camera-trap work
  • Eco-friendly stays and low-impact overlanding routes
  • Conservation education built into every expedition
100%of trips follow strict no-disturbance protocols
30+ Years Combined
In the Field
"They don't just show you animals. They help you understand them."
02 · Naturalist-Led

Certified naturalists with 30+ combined years.

Our guides are formally trained wildlife naturalists and photographers — not freelance drivers with a checklist. They read forests fluently: big-cat behaviour, bird calls, scat ID, alarm patterns. The kind of expertise that turns a "lucky sighting" into a deliberate one.

  • Formal naturalist training + 12+ years in Indian forests
  • Background in conservation biology and field research
  • Featured in wildlife magazines in India and the UK
  • Live commentary in English, Tamil, Hindi, and Kannada
30+ yrscombined field experience across our team
E-Album Included
Captured & Curated
"You go home with the trip exactly as you lived it."
03 · Photographer Included

A personal photographer on every expedition.

While you're spotting a tiger, ours is framing it. Every Tentasy expedition includes a dedicated wildlife photographer who captures the trip — and you go home with a curated e-album that you'll actually want to share. No extra cost.

  • Wildlife photographer joins every group, free
  • Curated post-trip e-album delivered within 7 days
  • Photography mentorship for travellers with their own gear
  • Macro, underwater, and big-cat specialisations
7 daysto receive your curated trip e-album
Max 6 Guests
Intentionally Intimate
"Breathing room to slow down and actually see the forest."
04 · Small-Group Format

Tiny groups. Deeper access.

We cap group sizes intentionally low. You get more time at sightings, real conversations with naturalists, and an itinerary that bends to the wildlife — not to a packed bus schedule. The result is better sightings, calmer wildlife, and meaningful bonds with co-travellers.

  • Group sizes capped to protect both wildlife and experience
  • Private safari jeeps with elevated viewing
  • Custom itineraries for couples, families, and photographers

15+ Reserves
India · Sri Lanka · Kenya · Tanzania
"We don't generalise. Every ecosystem has a specialist."
05 · Multi-Country

Specialists, not generalists.

India, Sri Lanka, and expanding to Kenya and Tanzania — every destination is curated by guides who live and breathe that specific ecosystem. Snow leopards in Ladakh, leopards in Yala, and the Maasai Mara migration aren't run by the same playbook, and we don't pretend they are.

  • 15+ reserves across Karnataka, MP, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Assam
  • Sri Lanka: Yala, Bundala, Udawalawe — leopards & blue whales
  • Andaman scuba diving programs (PADI & SDI certified)
  • Himalayan overlanding and snow-leopard circuits
15+reserves operated across two countries
80,000+ km Driven
Trained for the Remote
"Adventure without compromise on safety."
06 · Ex-Military Safety Standards

Built for adventure. Backed by discipline.

Our overlanding lead has driven over 80,000 km across India's toughest terrain — Himalayan snowfields to Western Ghat tracks. Ex-military trainers shape our safety protocols, so remote-area emergency response is built in from day one.

  • Ex-military emergency response and field protocols

Tentasy vs a typical safari tour

The honest difference between a checklist tour and an ethical wildlife expedition.

Typical Tour Operator Standard

What most safari packages look like.

  • Large mixed groups of 15–20 strangers
  • Driver-guides with no formal naturalist training
  • Wildlife treated as photo props — speed over depth
  • No photographer; you're on your own with your phone
  • Rigid itineraries that can't bend to the wildlife
  • Generic operators running the same trip in every region

Tentasy Our Way

What every Tentasy expedition delivers.

  • Intentionally small groups, capped for impact and intimacy
  • Certified naturalists with 12+ years of field expertise
  • Depth, ethics, and zero-disturbance sighting protocols
  • Dedicated photographer + curated e-album included free
  • Flexible itineraries that follow the forest, not the clock
  • Region-specialist guides for every ecosystem we run

Quick Answers

Frequently Asked

The questions travellers ask before booking their first expedition with us.

Why is Tentasy more expensive than other safari tours?

You're paying for ethics, expertise, and intimacy — small groups, certified naturalist guides, a personal photographer, an included e-album, KFD-certified ethical sighting protocols, and itineraries built around the wildlife rather than a packed bus schedule. Most travellers tell us the difference shows up in the very first sighting.

Where does Tentasy operate?

We run expeditions across 15+ reserves in India and Sri Lanka — Karnataka (Bandipur, Nagarahole, Kabini, Bhadra, BRT), Madhya Pradesh (Kanha, Bandhavgarh, Pench, Panna, Satpura), Rajasthan (Ranthambore), Gujarat (Gir), Assam (Kaziranga), the Andaman Islands (PADI scuba), and Sri Lanka (Yala, Bundala, Udawalawe). We're also expanding into Kenya (Maasai Mara) and Tanzania (Serengeti).

How big are Tentasy groups?

Group sizes are intentionally small. Most safari and photography trips run with 4–6 guests, occasionally up to 8 for larger overlanding circuits. This protects both the wildlife and your experience — better sightings, calmer animals, and real conversations with your naturalist.

Are Tentasy guides actually qualified?

Yes. Our team holds formal naturalist certifications, decades of combined field experience, conservation-biology backgrounds, and PADI / SDI dive certifications. Several have been featured in wildlife magazines in India and the UK. We've also been panellists at academic institutions including St. Joseph's College of Commerce.

Do you work with schools, colleges, and corporates?

Yes. We run leadership expeditions, eco-tourism workshops, Train-the-Teacher programs, certified PADI scuba sessions, and wildlife photography certifications. Past clients include Sastra University, Sainik School, Navy Children School, Great Lakes Institute of Management, and the Military Engineering Centre.

Is the photographer really included for free?

Yes. A dedicated wildlife photographer joins every expedition at no extra cost, and you receive a curated e-album within 7 days of the trip ending. Travellers bringing their own gear get mentorship sessions in field technique, big-cat behaviour, and post-processing.
