The Five Kingdoms: regional expeditions in one journey
The Ultimate India Grand Expedition is a 100-day private journey that stitches together Tentasy's regional expeditions: the Kingdom of the Snow Leopard (North India), the Realm of the Black Panther (South India), the Land of the Last Lions (West India), the Last Rhino Kingdom (North East India) and the Marine Kingdom. Each is a complete 30-day journey on its own; together they cover most of the country.
Sample 100-day route across India
A route might begin in the north with Delhi, Ranthambore, Kuno and Jim Corbett before the Himalaya at Leh, move west to Rajasthan, the Rann of Kutch and Gir, drop south to Hampi, Kabini, Bandipur and Munnar, and finish in the north east at Kaziranga, Tawang and Meghalaya. The order is set by season and your start date, because every route is designed from scratch around your dates, interests and pace.
Wildlife you can see: tigers, lions, rhinos and leopards
- Tigers and leopards in Ranthambore, Jim Corbett, Bandipur and Kabini.
- Asiatic lions in Gir, the only wild population on Earth.
- One-horned rhinos in Kaziranga.
- Black panther territory around Kabini, blackbuck at Velavadar and the Indian wild ass in the Little Rann of Kutch.
Best time to travel and how the route is sequenced
The regional seasons differ: the West India expedition runs best from October to March, and the South India circuit from June to January, while Ladakh and the north east have their own windows. We sequence the 100 days so each region falls in its good season.
