Ranthambore safari: zones, vehicles and timings
Ranthambore National Park near Sawai Madhopur is one of the best places in India to see tigers in daylight. Safaris run in numbered zones by open jeep (gypsy) or canter, in a morning and an afternoon slot that shifts with the season. The park's core zones close during the monsoon, roughly July to September. Safaris are booked through the Rajasthan Forest Department, and Tentasy books them for you.
Best time for a Ranthambore tour
October to March gives cool mornings and good Jaipur weather; April to June is hot but the best for tiger sightings around the waterholes. Jaipur is about 160 to 180 km from Ranthambore by road.
Wildlife meets heritage
This trip is a short, balanced introduction to Rajasthan: one day for the forest and one for the city. If you want more time with wildlife, our North India Grand Tour adds Ranthambore, Kuno and Corbett, and we can extend this trip on request.
